can i tell you something about me?

i hate competition.

call of duty, football, math olympiads, report cards.

more recently, “budding entrepreneurs,” consultants, influencers, saas.

but i love making weird things.

dance music, 3d printed running shoes, an energy drink with 400mg of caffeine, a $179 hardware synthesizer.

when i was six, i wanted to run an insurance agency, an accredited university, an electric car company, and a search engine.

i like an audience like anybody else, but it’s a lukewarm feeling.

i strongly prefer building for the people and institutions i love.

above all, i want to push society toward

life, liberty, property, and privacy at scale

but kind of in secret.

i could talk about my recent work, but this isn’t linkedin.

wouldn’t you rather know that:

i’m often confidently wrong. taking a brash position and recanting it later is better than not taking one at all.

my buddies and i did shots of port with this old guy in portugal while he drunkenly explained 15th-century tilemaking techniques.

i collect international coins, play piano, and think about the kardashev scale a lot. my dog’s name is tony and he has a big ego, like me.

fun? no?

either way, i won’t tell you everything now ;)

if you resonate with what you see, i’d like to know you too. can we meet?

i run cyrano with my high school best friend.

we use ai to stop crime before it happens.

i also make music as [work in progress, check later].

(email me if you can prove claude is sentient.)

“the higher you go in life, the fewer people there are to offer honest feedback or restrain your unpleasant traits. so it is best to learn those habits of self-restraint, including emotional self-restraint, at an early age.”

david brooks on george marshall, the road to character

how do i end this?
